Privacy Policy

Short version: Pinscreener stores your collected images and settings on your device only. No personal data, no browsing history, no Pinterest account information is ever sent anywhere. The only external request the extension makes is a one-time license verification with Gumroad when you purchase.

1. Who we are

2. What data we store

Pinscreener stores three things, all on your device:

Pinterest image URLs — collected from boards you browse, stored locally so the screensaver can play them without Pinterest being open. Never transmitted anywhere.
Your settings — display preferences like column count, speed, and colours. Stored locally on your device.
License status — a flag confirming you have an active license, synced across your own Chrome profiles via Chrome's built-in sync. Your license key is sent to Gumroad once at activation to verify your purchase, then stored locally. It is never sent anywhere else.

Pinscreener does not collect your name, email, IP address, browsing history, Pinterest account information, or any personally identifiable information.

3. How image collection works

When you click "Grab images", the extension reads the image URLs already visible in your browser on the Pinterest tab you have open — the same images your browser has already loaded to display the page. Only the URLs are saved, not the images themselves. The screensaver loads images directly from Pinterest's servers when it plays, exactly as your browser does when you browse normally.

4. License verification

When you activate a license, your key is sent to Gumroad's API to confirm the purchase is valid. This is the only external network request Pinscreener makes. Pinscreener receives only a pass/fail response — no payment details are ever accessible to the extension. Gumroad's data practices are covered by Gumroad's Privacy Policy.

5. Third-party services

Pinterest — images load from Pinterest's CDN when the screensaver plays. Pinscreener is not affiliated with Pinterest, Inc.
Gumroad — handles purchase and license verification only.
Google Fonts — the popup loads the Inter typeface. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Deleting your data

Clear collected images: Use the "Clear all images" button in the Pinscreener popup.
Clear everything: Uninstall the extension. Chrome removes all associated data automatically.
Clear synced license: Remove the extension on all your devices and clear Chrome sync data.

7. Children

Pinscreener is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
